Nick Jonas on Chewy Quaker Interview :

NICK 12

Nick Jonas dished on his brother Joe's new album, an exciting collaboration with a mystery artist, and his new superstar contest when he sat down with Billboard for a Live Q&A today (June 8).

For the past seven months, Nick has put his own music on hold to write and produce for other artists such as JoJoCharice, Greyson Chance andMario. This weekend Nick will be working with another artist, but he's keeping the collaboration under wraps for now.

"I might be back in L.A. doing some recording with someone -- a really exciting project that I'm not able to speak about yet, but it's a song that I've connected with as an artist on a really personal level," Nick told Billboard.com viewers.

While Nick has been busy writing and producing for other artists, his brother Joe has been in the studio creating his own solo album, "Fast Life," which is expected to drop in September. The album's first single "See No More," which was co-written by Chris Brownmade its debut last Friday (June 3).

"I'm really proud of him because I feel like he really took his time on this from an artist's perspective," Nick said of Joe's first solo effort. "I think that he's had a lot for a long tome that he's wanted to say -- some things that he talks about on this record -- but he does a beautiful job of making it just as good a song as it is a story. The whole record, as a piece of art, is brilliant."

While Joe is performing and preparing to release his new record, Nick is out looking for the next superstar in his Quaker Chewy competition.

Contestants between the ages of 8 and 14 can submit online videos of them singing, and one lucky winner will be chosen to receive $5,000 and a chance to work in the studio with Nick.

"Hopefully I can mentor this person and guide them with what I've learned in my journey so far, and I'll be producing a song for them as well," said Nick, joking that he could have used these perks when starting his own musical career at the young age of 7.

Nick, whose Nick Jonas and the Administration side project released its debut last February, will continue writing and producing, but performing isn't out of the question for the future.

Archived video from the Nick Jonas Live Q&A will hit Billboard.com tomorrow (June 9).
